Today we had a showing to Leentje, we also went through the lights with our technician Anna and continued to work upon our ending for the showing tomorrow.
Light Planning:
We spent some time, planning the lights of the show and plotting through with them to help Anna with remembering them. I was a bit of a Diva when it came to the lights and was really picky with the intensity and which lights etc, but I feel that its important to be a perfectionist on these sorts of things in order to enhance the piece.
Leentje’s Notes:
Inconsistent some people using hands some people not keep consistent
Lenntje ending maybe go into this member of the audience is good because you’ve been great because and then go into the song and then into what Lenntje said before and work on asking if we had done everything. – change the coats text to it not saying coats at all and make it so it’s about what we have been doing- Ask them to maybe write on Facebook and stuff If this is a tiny bit like the start like saying maybe if we have been successful then our Facebook like should have gone up loads and our followings on twitter have risen 80% ect We can flatter people too The coats speach isn’t very conclusive
Ending Discussion In Rehearsal
Making this ending planned
The End Dilemma:
We spent a large amount of time working on the ending, Leentje had suggested that we end with an improvisation section so we were trying to run with this idea. I had quite a few problems with this idea at first, especially for the show being tomorrow and felt that we weren’t, and wouldn’t be prepared enough for this for tomorrow. As one of the only one of us who had worked with audience participation and interaction before I knew how much, although improvised, we would of had to prepare before this in order to be comfortable and prepared. We would have to agree upon the right tone, the right way to get out of things we weren’t prepared to do and so forth. We spent a long time trying to work out these problems but we were never confident in what we had done to be comfortable in the show tomorrow.
At this point it was getting late, and we didn’t want to be too tired for the show tomorrow, especially as one of Leentje’s points was to have more energy. We decided at this point, as the improvised ending was proving too difficult at this point, to return to our earlier ending and remove the coat references from it.
We decided that for the show tomorrow, we would simply have Pip singing the theme song whilst Carmen thanks the audience, then we will all come out and sing along whilst Carmen gives us all our own bow and we encourage the audience to sing along.
Then we slept!
