Today we had a showing to Leentje, we also went through the lights with our technician Anna and continued to work upon our ending for the showing tomorrow.

stage-light[2]Light Planning:

We spent some time, planning the lights of the show and plotting through with them to help Anna with remembering them. I was a bit of a Diva when it came to the lights and was really picky with the intensity and which lights etc, but I feel that its important to be a perfectionist on these sorts of things in order to enhance the piece.

Leentje’s Notes:

Overall Points:
We need to loosen up
Need to be big and fake
Imagine confetti and fireworks and glittery stuff that’s not there but we need to make that happen or else it doesn’t work
HAVE MORE FUN!!!!!
Advantage it’s almost impossible for something to go wrong …
We keep forgetting that we maybe need to get in somewhere that we do actually want to be loved, like a fake love.
You don’t genuinely love this audience it’s a fake love
Add some more love
Give our selves completely but we do need to care
We don’t want the genuine love but but we want them to be involved It’s all in the fakeness we need to take them along
So when we go bigger, it’s our job to make you love us because we need good reviews
Little things:
Inconsistent some people using hands some people not keep consistent
Look at moments of silliness in the text (speak Spanish) (partridge in a pear tree sing all together) (try to convince more)
It’s as simple as saying right ok we are going to have fun with this Jodie don’t say middle class and give people a moment to think about nipples Be loud and confident with everything!!!!
Bring back the spray Jodie do like a breath release  in mans world Remove sign – change to something else Zoe Scottish music a matter of intro (ZOE BE SO MUCH BIGGER)
Cregg speach change Maybe be drunk cross closer to each other
Possibility for some flirty stuff between each other- waiting for the them to stop flirting and grace is trying to seduce Dan and his getting really into grace
Turn Shakespeare into how well prepared we are and just incase people are deaf and people are blind we are so prepared Shakespeare hang of the audience Maybe change the Bit into green scene Dans speach just change it to about how the audience or audience members have been really good.
Hates the end!!!!!!!! Change it!!!!!! It’s a bit like wait have we missed out on something is this performance about the coats. The problem is the audience are left a bit like eh I don’t understand
Lenntje ending maybe go into this member of the audience is good because you’ve been great because and then go into the song and then into what Lenntje said before and work on asking if we had done everything. – change the coats text to it not saying coats at all and make it so it’s about what we have been doing- Ask them to maybe write on Facebook and stuff If this is a tiny bit like the start like saying maybe if we have been successful then our Facebook like should have gone up loads and our followings on twitter have risen 80% ect We can flatter people too The coats speach isn’t very conclusive
Ending Discussion In Rehearsal
Making this ending planned
We set it and we can put words into people’s mouths you can make it as if they have decided the ending
Can turn it round so it’s still audience based

The End Dilemma:

We spent a large amount of time working on the ending, Leentje had suggested that we end with an improvisation section so we were trying to run with this idea. I had quite a few problems with this idea at first, especially for the show being tomorrow and felt that we weren’t, and wouldn’t be prepared enough for this for tomorrow. As one of the only one of us who had worked with audience participation and interaction before I knew how much, although improvised, we would of had to prepare before this in order to be comfortable and prepared. We would have to agree upon the right tone, the right way to get out of things we weren’t prepared to do and so forth. We spent a long time trying to work out these problems but we were never confident in what we had done to be comfortable in the show tomorrow.

At this point it was getting late, and we didn’t want to be too tired for the show tomorrow, especially as one of Leentje’s points was to have more energy. We decided at this point, as the improvised ending was proving too difficult at this point, to return to our earlier ending and remove the coat references from it.

We decided that for the show tomorrow, we would simply have Pip singing the theme song whilst Carmen thanks the audience, then we will all come out and sing along whilst Carmen gives us all our own bow and we encourage the audience to sing along.

Then we slept!
